Boat tragedy: Govt moves swiftly to relocate families

The Uttar Pradesh government has approved ₹21.55 crore for the rehabilitation of families displaced in Bahraich’ Bharathapur area, following the recent boat tragedy that claimed several lives.

The government has directed that all affected families be relocated within a month and provided with housing, land, and essential amenities.

Officials said the rehabilitation plan includes the construction of new colonies named after the displaced families’ original villages, ensuring the provision of electricity, water, roads, and other basic facilities.
