Vijay asks DMK to learn from Pondy govt

Actor-turned-politician Vijay addressed a rally in Puducherry on Tuesday, calling for full statehood for the Union Territory and urging the ruling party in Tamil Nadu to take lessons from Puducherry’s administration.

Speaking from a campaign vehicle, he praised Chief Minister N. Rangasamy for what he described as “impartial governance,” even as Vijay's own party, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, remains a political rival. He accused both the central government and the opposition Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam of neglecting the longstanding demand for statehood, despite 16 resolutions passed by the Puducherry assembly over the years.Vijay said the contrast between governance in Puducherry and Tamil Nadu was stark. “It will be good if TN’s DMK regime learns from impartial Puducherry government. They will however, not learn now,” he declared. He predicted that the DMK would “100 per cent learn their le
