Forum of IT Employees alleges foul play by company; staff claim coercion and loss of jobs after years of service amid automation shift
Layoffs by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have sparked widespread concern in the global IT sector, with employees and worker forums now alleging that the company has forced several resignations to reduce its headcount without recording them as official terminations.
Earlier this month, TCS announced that around 2% of its workforce—mostly midand senior-level employees—had been let go due to “skill mismatches” and the company’s shift towards AIand automation-driven business models. The firm cited approximately 19,755 layoffs in its quarterly filings. However, several IT organisations and employee groups have claimed that the actual number is higher and that many employees were pressured to resign so their exits would not appear in company records.
