NETWORK | Raids across districts seize large quantities of narcotic syrups

The UP government has intensified its state-level crackdown on the illegal misuse of codeine-based cough syrups and other narcotic-category medicines. Acting on directions from the CM, joint teams of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force and the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) conducted rapid inspections across districts, leading to the seizure of large quantities of unauthorised narcotic medicines. A total of 128 FIRs have been registered across 28 districts, and more than half a dozen individuals involved in unlawful drug storage and distribution have been arrested.
