Experts say positive discovery could revive the economically struggling Saurashtra belt
Drilling operations have begun for the first time in Saurashtra to explore potential oil and gas reserves.
The ambitious project, led by ONGC’s Cambay Asset, has deployed worldclass drilling technology in the Manavadar Panthak region.
The drilling ring has been installed within a 12-kilometer stretch around Manavadar, following detailed surveys conducted in 2023. Experts believe the project could mark the beginning of a new energy chapter for Saurashtra, which has never before been part of India’s oil and gas exploration map.
