The incident that propelled Singh into the spotlight unfolded at the Uppalam Expo Ground in Puducherry, where authorities had imposed strict conditions on the event, including a cap on attendance and a prohibition on any roadshow. Footage circulating widely showed Singh intervening at the entry point, firmly refusing requests to admit more people once capacity had been reached.
