Vellappally argued that the summit presents a unique opportunity to elevate the global standing of Sabarimala
Travancore Devaswom Board president P S Prasanth has formally invited SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan to the Global Ayyappa Summit set to take place at Pampa on 20 September.
At the meeting, Vellappally insisted that Sabarimala must not become a source of contention and urged that cases filed against devotees for their involvement in the 2018 Namajapa Yatra protests be withdrawn.
He reaffirmed SNDP's clear support for the summit while dismissing suggestions that it was intended as political atonement.
