Individuals of all ages—from 12-year-old children to the elderly—can fall victim to it. Depression affects anyone, regardless of gender or age, and involves persistent sadness and dejection. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), depression is a common mental disorder affecting 264 million people globally. By 2030, it is expected to become one of the leading causes of death. Unlike temporary sadness, depression is a real illness that requires attention.
