A dispute over a jewellery warranty at Mahalakshmi Jewellers in Pune’s Kondhwa on Saturday at 7.30pm escalated into a physical altercation, triggering communal tension between Hindu and Muslim groups in the area.
According to information, the altercation began when a customer, Parvez Nabi Sheikh, returned to the shop claiming that an earring had broken within the warranty period and demanded a replacement.
