The All India Congress Committee has lashed out at the Left Democratic Front government, accusing the CPM of entering into a covert understanding with the BJP as part of the state’s decision to join the central school-upgrade initiative PM-SHRI.

At a media briefing on Wednesday, AICC general-secretary K. C. Venugopal claimed that the move was not merely about education funds but emblematic of political compromise.

Venugopal pointed to what he described as the “covering up” of an Enforcement Directorate notice issued to Vivek Kiran Vijayan, son of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and the repeated deferments of a case involving SNC-Lavalin in the Supreme Court, as further evidence of the alleged tacit CPI-BJP understanding.
