Chhattisgarh Assembly adjourns amid tensions over rising crime rates

The Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly was adjourned for a brief period on Friday following a heated exchange between Congress and BJP legislators over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

Speaker Dr. Raman Singh rejected the adjournment motion, raised by Congress MLA Bhupesh Baghel from Patan and 33 other Congress MLAs on the last day of the winter session.

The Congress MLAs, during the Zero Hour, expressed concerns over the escalating crime rates and the state's law and order situation.

Meanwhile, when Congress MLA Umesh Patel was presenting his argument in favor of the motion, BJP MLA Sushant Shukla intervened and tried to interrupt him, leading to chaos in the House.
