A day before Diwali, Surat’s Udhna Railway Station turned into a sea of humanity as thousands of migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand gathered to catch homebound trains.
Long queues spilled outside the station onto the surrounding streets, with many passengers waiting for more than 12 to 18 hours.
