The Supreme Court authorised transfer of land at Nettukaltheri open prison compound in Kattakada, Thiruvananthapuram to support three large projects including a missile-manufacturing complex.
Under the order, 180 acres are designated for the Defence Research and Development Organisation to establish a facility for BrahMos Aerospace, while 32 acres each will go to the National Forensic Science University and the headquarters of a Sashastra Seema Bal battalion.
