UNPRECEDENTED SCENES | Opposition MLAs tried to climb the Speaker's podium
Chaos gripped the Kerala Assembly on Tuesday as Opposition members esc al ated protests over the Sa ba rimala gold theft cont roversy, forcing repeated in terru pt ions to proceedings and pr ompting the Speaker to halt the House twice amid dis order.
The uproar began soon after the session commenced, with members of the United Democratic Front accusing the government of evasion and demanding a detailed explanation on the handling of gold and valuables linked to Sabarimala. As slogans intensified, several Opp os ition legislators moved to wards the Speaker’s dais, tr iggering scenes of pand emonium that brought le gi slative business to a sta nd still.
