Union Minister's convoy attacked in Bengal's Nabadwip

Union Minister of State for Education and former Bengal BJP president Sukanta Majumdar faced a violent episode on Wednesday night when his convoy was allegedly attacked in Nabadwip, Nadia district, intensifying tensions in the politically charged state.
The incident occurred around 9 p.m. as Majumdar’s convoy was passing through the crowded Nabadwip bus stand after a day of party programmes and public meetings in the district.
According to Majumdar, who recently led a protest against alleged police highhandedness during local religious events, the attack was carried out by "local TMC workers" when two vehicles in his convoy lagged behind and attempted to turn. The vehicles were vandalised, and at least two BJP leaders sustained injuries.
