Triumphing over Taboos: The Distinguished Gentlemen's Ride

What's the first image that comes to your mind when you see or hear the word biker or motorcyclist?

Let me guess: the image your mind conjures comprises a "tough-looking" man in leather boots, distressed jeans, and a leather jacket (obviously) on a classic motorcycle, most likely a black Triumph or a Matchless. It could be a Norton or a BSA too. However, irrespective of the kind or brand of motorcycle, the rider in that image is almost always stoic. That's the image the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride wants to change—from an uptight borderline masochist to someone who's confident that his masculinity won't get diluted by discussing his pains, troubles, and mental health.

Therefore, the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride (DGR), founded in 2012, and growing every year by leaps and bounds, is again set to unite classic and vintage-style motorcycle enthusiasts from across the globe this year, not just for the love of motorcycles and riding, but also for a powerful cause—raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer research, men's mental health, and suicide prevention.
