Trinamool Urges EC to Use 2024 as Base Year for Revision of Voter Rolls

A Trinamool Congress (TMC) delegation on Tuesday met the Election Commission in New Delhi and demanded that 2024 should be used as the base year for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in West Bengal where Assembly elections are due next year.
The five-member delegation of State Ministers Chandrima Bhattacharya, Firhad Hakim and Aroop Biswas along with MPs Kalyan Banerjee and Prakash Chik Baraik raised the demand during a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi.
