In a show of support for the people of Palestine, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday carried a bag to Parliament that had 'Palestine' imprinting on it.

The Congress general secretary has been raising her voice against Israel's actions in Gaza and expressing solidarity with Palestinians.
Gandhi was seen carrying a handbag with the word 'Palestine' and Palestinian emblems, including a watermelon -- seen as a symbol of Palestinian solidarity.

The newly-elected Wayanad MP's act sparked a row with BJP slamming her.
The BJP seized on the opportunity to criticise her, alleging that the bag's inscription indicated her support for Palestine over India's interests. BJP MP ‘Palestine’, row erupts Manoj Tiwari accused her of “appeasement” and said the Congress party uses different agendas to get votes by entangling them.
