The Parliament witnessed chaotic scenes on Thursday over the issue of US President Donald Trump announcing a 25 percent tariff on India, effective August 1.
This tariff will apply to India's exports, and there will also be extra fines for buying oil and weapons from Russia. Trump even called India a 'dead economy,' which shows his tough stance.
The opposition launched sharp attacks on the Modi government. Congress said that all "praise" between Trump and Modi has proven "useless." Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi supported Trump's "dead economy" statement and targeted the government, though some leaders in his party did not seem to agree.
