Gen-Z protesters set fire to Nepal's Parliament building as Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigned on Tuesday after a massive escalation of youth-led protests across the country for a second consecutive day. His resignation was confirmed by the Prime Minister's secretariat, according to local media reports. The political turmoil had already led to the resignation of four government ministers earlier in the week.

At least 22 protesters died in clashes with police and hundreds of others sustained injuries in Kathmandu and surrounding towns in agitations led by the country's youth against the government's corruption and social media ban on Monday.

Nepal President Ramchandra Paudel has officially accepted Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's resignation. The Himalayan Times reported. On Monday alone, 19 protesters were killed and around 500 injured during clashes around the Federal Parliament and other sites in Kathmandu, The Himalayan Times reported.
