MVA promises plenty of freebies

The opposition MVA on Sunday released its manifesto for the Maharashtra assembly polls, promising free cervical cancer vaccines for girls aged 9 to 16 and two optional leave days for women employees during menstruation.

MVA has promised to conduct a caste-based census and remove the 50 per cent cap on reservations.
Under the Mahalaxmi scheme, the MVA has vowed to provide Rs 3,000 financial aid to women every month as well as free bus rides to women in the state.
The manifesto, titled 'Maharashtranama', also assured a caste-based census , establishment of a separate department for the empowerment of self-help groups, formation of a dedicated ministry for child welfare, and six cooking gas cylinders every year at Rs 500 each to women. It assured to provide Rs 1 lakh each to girls on attaining t Rs 3,000 financial aid to women every month 3,000 financial aid to women every months 3,000 financial aid to women every monthe age of 18 years.
