Mayawati to hold mega comeback rally on October 9

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will stage a massive show of strength on October 9 at Lucknow's Rashtriya Dalit Smarak to mark founder Kanshi Ram's death anniversary, observed as Mahaparinirvan Diwas.
The event, seen as Mayawati's political comeback, will also mark the BSP's first major step toward the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls. Mayawati last addressed a rally on this occasion in 2021.
The BSP's revival bid has set alarm bells ringing among rivals. Both the Congress and Samajwadi Party (SP) have dismissed the rally as an attempt “to indirectly help the BJP.” Meanwhile, Chandrashekhar Aazad’s Azad Samaj Party (ASP)-Kanshi Ram postponed its own October 9 event in Lucknow to avoid a direct comparison with the BSP’s show.
