INDIA'S GDP GROWTH TO SLOW IN 2024-25: IMF

India's GDP growth is expected to moderate from 8.2% in 2023 to 7% in 2024 and 6.5% in 2025 due to the exhaustion of pent-up demand accumulated during the pandemic, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) reported on Tuesday. The IMF highlighted that as India reconnects with its potential, this moderation reflects the rebalancing of the economy.

Regarding the global economy, the IMF stated that while inflation has largely been controlled, some countries continue to experience price pressures. After peaking at 9.4% year-on-year in Q3 of 2022, headline inflation rates are now projected to decrease to 3.5% by the end of 2025, falling below the average of 3.6% observed
