Former SSP, SP Get 5-Year Term in Moga Sex Scandal Case

The case revolved around charges that police officers were involved in blackmailing wealthy youth by falsely implicating them in a sex racket
In the 2007 Moga sex scandal case, a CBI court on Monday sentenced former Moga Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Devinder Singh Garcha and then SP (Headquarters) Paramdip Singh Sandhu to five years of rigorous imprisonment.
Both officers were also fined 2 lakh each under provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
The court also awarded Inspector Amarjit Singh six-and-a-half years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of 2.5 lakh, while Sub-Inspector Raman Kumar was sentenced to eight years of rigorous imprisonment and fined 3 lakh.
