FARMERS TO INTENSIFY STIR FROM NOV 26

Protesting against the Union government for not fulfilling demands made to farmers during 2020-21 protests, the farmers associated with the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha have decided to intensify their agitation by launching a fast unto death from November 26, the anniversary of the 2020-21 farmers' agitation.

Farmer leaders, who jointly announced this decision in Delhi on Friday, said the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha announced that the decision was taken following no response from the government on their pending demands, including a legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP) and a loan waiver.

The SKM (NP) leader, Jagjit Singh Dallewal, will himself start an indefinite hunger strike at the Khanauri border.

The leaders said that farmers and laborers from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and other states will gather at the Khanauri border to support the hunger strike.

Similarly, peaceful protests will be held at district headquarters across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and other South Indian states.

The leaders warned that if the government fails to address their demands, farmers will launch a march towards Delhi from Shambhu Border on December 6.
