Delhi to expand interstate bus network with long-route services

The Delhi government is planning to hire buses for long-distance routes such as Ayodhya and Rishikesh, even as it prepares to launch its third interstate bus service — Delhi to Dharuhera in Haryana — next month.

The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) already operates interstate services on two routes: Delhi-Baraut in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi-Sonipat in Haryana.

“We have a target of launching one new route every month. Electric buses are already running on the two existing routes. Next month, we will begin the Delhi-Dharuhera service,” an official said, adding that meetings with stakeholders have been held.
