In a significant post-poll shake-up, the Congress high command on Thursday appointed Dr Anil Jaihind as the new chairman of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) OBC Department, removing former minister Capt Ajay Singh Yadav with immediate effect.
The decision, approved by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, comes as part of an organisational overhaul following the party's poor performance in the Haryana Assembly elections. Sources said this marks the beginning of the Congress's internal restructuring in Haryana.
Reacting sharply to his removal, Capt Ajay Yadav expressed his displeasure on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), calling the move "unceremonious" and alleging that a "conspiracy" by senior party leaders led to his ouster.
