CM guarantees clean Yamuna waters with rapid sewage and pollution control measures.

- TDG NETWORK

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday assured the people of Delhi that froth over the Yamuna surface will not be seen during the upcoming Chhath festival, asserting that fast-paced work is underway for the rejuvenation of the polluted river.

Froth over the Yamuna water appears around winter, especially after Diwali, due to the discharge of untreated sewage, industrial effluents, and high phosphate levels from detergents. Images of devotees performing Chhath Puja in froth-laden waters in past years had sparked criticism from opposition parties and environmental activists, who called it a reflection of Delhi's poor river management.
