Bengaluru cops arrest 12 people for opening mule bank accounts in names of general public

Ina special operation conducted by the Bengaluru’s Hulimavu police, the team of cops have arrested 12 individuals for cheating by illegally opening bank accounts - mule accounts in the names of members of the general public, and the team also made seizures of 58 mobile phones, 7 laptops watches, 531 gm of gold ornaments and Rs 4.89 lakh in cash -a total value of the seizure rounded up to Rs 1Cr.
On 28th November 2025, the Hulimavu police received credible information from an informant which revealed that two individuals were opening bank accounts in the names of members of the general public and handing them over to another person based in Dubai for illegal monetary gain and also to assist in the operation of illegal gambling apps.
