During a 15-minute meeting with the Singaporean envoy at Assam House, Chief Minister Sarma sought the envoy's cooperation in bringing the investigation to its logical conclusion. Chief Minister Sarma informed the envoy that India's Ministry of Home Affairs had already invoked the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) with Singapore, following which some headway had been made, including the receipt of the postmortem report. The Chief Minister also urged the envoy to ensure full cooperation from Singaporean authorities, particularly the local police, in sharing information crucial to the investigation.

Later taking to X (formerly Twitter) the Chief Minister posted, "Today in New Delhi, I met the Acting High Commissioner of Singapore, H.E Alice Cheng.
