ASHTA SIDDHIS: EVERYDAY WISDOM FOR THE MODERN WOMAN
The Daily Guardian
|November 01, 2025
Small When Needed, Strong When RequiredThe Ashta Siddhis as Life Skills Are you juggling deadlines at work and a home that won't stop? Do your feelings pile up—stress, worry, guilt, a dull ache that won't go away? Do you feel unseen/ invisible in meetings, social gatherings? Are you weighed down by everyone’s expectations, feeling tired, guilty?
For Today's Woman—Pressure is real, Time is tight.
Remember Sita’s blessing—“Ashta Siddhi Nau Nidhi ke Daata.” Not magic. Practice.
What if the Ashta Siddhis were simple steps or eight tiny shifts for today: focus, voice, boundaries, ease?
“A Map of Inner Power: the Ashta Siddhis”
We don't take them literally. We reimagine each siddhi as a simple, ethical, doable habit for us. We translate them into daily, ethical life skills.
Shall we understand them, try one now and see if the heaviness softens, even a little?
1. Anima: reduce one's self to the size of an atom
• Ego-down to notice what matters, attention sharp.
• Humility and sharp focus
• Pause for 60 seconds before a tough meeting
• Listen fully before replying at home
• Pick one battle, let the rest pass
• Close eyes, Inhale 4 secs, Hold 4 secs, Exhale 6 secs, repeat 6 times.
• Cuts noise, calms reactivity, improves listening in high-pressure moments.
2. Mahima: grow to an incredible size
• Take space, Amplify voice.
• Visibility, ambition.
