'A mantra, a dream, a resolve': PM marks 150 years of Vande Mataram

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the yearlong commemoration of 150 years of India’s national song Vande Mataram in New Delhi, calling it “a mantra, an energy, and a dream that embodies devotion to Maa Bharati.”

Marking the occasion, the Prime Minister released a commemorative coin and postage stamp dedicated to Vande Mataram, originally composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee on November 7,1875, and published in his novel Anandamath. The ceremony featured the mass singing of the complete version of the song across the country.
