Vet clinic plan for dockers' boozer
The Chronicle
|June 21, 2025
T closed its doors more than 20 years ago, but the building which was home to an historic North Tyneside pub could be set for a new lease of life.
The Wolsington House on Burdon Main Row, North Shields, served the local community for a century before the final pint was pulled in 2001 and the premises were put up for sale.
Boarded up and fenced off since then, the building is finally set to open up again as a vet's practice.
A planning application with North Tyneside Council, submitted by Vibrissa Pet Services, reveals the former boozer could be converted into a primary care veterinary practice featuring onsite surgery and consulting rooms.
Much has changed since the characterful redbrick Wolsington House was at the heart of an area which teemed with life.
