Relentless thief targeted shops

A “PERSISTENT” thief who committed a crime spree across Gateshead has been jailed.
Andrew Davidson targeted shops and vehicles during his offending.
The 41-year-old’s spree started on April 25 when he stole £150 worth of meat from a shop in the Pelaw area.
He then targeted a shop in Birtley on May 3 and May 4 and then a further two times on May 14, stealing bars of chocolate and alcohol worth around £1,000.
Two days later, Davidson targeted a vehicle in Wardley, making off with a pair of AirPods and two plastic bags filled with coins.
