MP urges party to avoid 'total chaos'

(Catherine McKinnell, MP for Newcastle North)

A NEWCASTLE MP has warned Labour against having a “revolving door” in 10 Downing Street, amid speculation over Sir Keir Starmer's future.

The Prime Minister's position has come under question as Labour lags behind Reform UK in the polls; Angela Rayner’s resignation as his deputy; and the fallout from Lord Mandelson’s sacking as ambassador to the US over the former Hartlepool MP’s links to Jeffrey Epstein.

Speculation has been mounting over a return to Westminster for Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham and a potential Labour leadership bid.

Newcastle North MP Catherine McKinnell has now cautioned her party against the “chaos” brought on by leadership changes, following the repeated power shifts under the Conservatives.
