Motorist forced onto footpath by drink-driver

TRAVELLED ON WRONG SIDE OF ROAD AT HIGH SPEED AS HE LED POLICE ON CHASE
A DRINK-DRIVER forced an oncoming car onto a footpath and flouted the speed limits when he took police on a dangerous pursuit along narrow residential streets.
Danny Robinson also travelled on the wrong side of the road, failed to slow for speed bumps and didn't give way at junctions during the prolonged pursuit in Blyth.
Dash cam footage shows the 33-year-old clock speeds of 65mph in 30mph zones before he finally gives up and comes to a stop, prosecutors said.
He was arrested at the scene and later failed a roadside breath test.
Robinson, of Wright Street, in Blyth, has now been given a 32-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, after he pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and driving with excess alcohol.
