Men facing jail after horror crash into care home

PAIR TO BE SENTENCED NEXT MONTH
TWO men have admitted the robbery of a stolen car which smashed into a care home.
Two elderly residents at Highcliffe Care Home, in Sunderland, died in the days following the crash on the evening of July 10 but police are not pursuing criminal charges in relation to the deaths.
Last week, Sam Asgari-Tabar, 21, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving and robbery and now Reece Parish, 21, of Fordham Road, Sunderland, has admitted robbery.
Both men denied a charge of kidnap and prosecutors will not pursue that charge.
The pair were both further remanded in custody and will be sentenced on October 17.
Full details of what happened were not revealed during a brief hearing at Newcastle Crown Court.
