Man attacked ex in drunken row over phone

A man who took his former partner's phone off her, punched her every time she tried to get it back.

Glen Irwin (pictured) also kicked her in the head during the drunken attack which left her bruised and bloodied.

Newcastle Crown Court heard Irwin had been in a relationship with the woman for around five years but they split up in June last year, which she said was due to him being violent while they were abroad on holiday.
