HOME TIE WITH WALSALL UP NEXT FOR GIANTKILLERS
ALUN Armstrong has warned Gateshead they will have to "do it the hard way" after they were handed a home tie with League Two leaders Walsall in the FA Cup second round draw.
The Heed produced one of the shocks of the first round weekend with their best performance of the season as top goalscorer Kain Adom and former Middlesbrough youngster Fenton John both scored in a 2-0 win at League One playoff contenders AFC Wimbledon.
Their reward will be a home tie against Walsall on the weekend of Saturday, December 6 and the Saddlers will arrive on Tyneside looking to end Gateshead's hope of securing a potentially lucrative draw against a Premier League giant in the third round of the competition.
The visitors have been in fine form this season and head into Saturday's visit to Newport County sitting at the top of the League Two table on the back of losing just four of their 14 league games.
