Elanga leaves Swedish camp

ANTHONY Elanga, pictured right, has left the Sweden camp for “private reasons” just days after playing in his country’s humbling 4-1 defeat against Switzerland.

Elanga's exit from Sweden’s preparations for their game against Slovenia prompted concerns within the Newcastle fanbase. But Elanga is not believed to be injured and Newcastle are now in communication with their £55m star.

Newcastle are building up to the game against Man City on Saturday night and are currently assessing a number of knocks and strains, including Anthony Gordon, who is yet to train.

When asked about Elanga’s absence with Sweden press officer Petra Thoren said: “For private reasons.”
