Driver prosecuted for fraudulent use of blue badges

A DRIVER has been prosecuted for fraudulently using a disabled parking permit.

The blue badge, issued by Gateshead Council, was used unlawfully in by the badge-holder's daughter-in-law.
The driver parked in a disabled bay in Blackburn on April 16 this year and approached two Civil Enforcement Officers to ask if she could use the space.
She was informed that she could do so only if the Blue Badge belonged to her.
She displayed the badge and left the vehicle unattended. Officers checked and found that the badge did not belong to her.
