FAMILY AND 'FRIENDS ACROSS THE WORLD' PAY TRIBUTE TO 'HARD-WORKING' 44-YEAR-OLD

- By NICOLE GOODWIN

TRIBUTES have been paid to an 'avid Newcastle fan' who 'would help anyone out', following his sudden death overseas.

Steven Coulson was on a business trip in Kuwait when he was admitted to hospital after a leg injury became infected.

His brother Liam Coulson said Steven had cut his leg when someone bumped into him with an airport trolley in January. He underwent treatment to have his wound flushed because it wasn’t healing, but it became infected and Steven developed sepsis.

He died following a two-week stay in hospital on September 4, aged 44.

Paying tribute to his brother, Liam, 42, said: "He was an avid Newcastle fan and a lovely family man. The amount of people from around the globe who have contacted me since his death has been unbelievable, and they're all saying they're Steven's brothers.

"He's really left his mark with people but it’s just tragic because he’s left behind a wife and young kids."

He added: "Like typical brothers we were always fighting growing up and I think I was more like the older brother. A friend of us both actually messaged to say he can’t believe [Steven’s death] and said that although you were always fighting when you were growing up you always had each other's back, and he’s right. That's why I came straight out here."
