Couple celebrate 70 years of marriage

PAIR SHARE THEIR SECRET TO STAYING HAPPILY WED FOR SO LONG
A COUPLE who say the key to a happy and successful marriage is simply to "enjoy doing life together" have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
Robert and Evelyn Hudson were married on August 6, 1955, and have led a growing family now spread over five generations.
Evelyn, 92, and her husband Robert - who turned 90 in June - first met at the Butlins Holiday Camp in Filey, North Yorkshire, in 1952.
Newcastle born and bred, Evelyn told The Chronicle the pair "courted for two years, were engaged for a year and married the year after".
