PARENTS across the North East welcomed beautiful babies into the world on Christmas Day.

- By KRISTY DAWSON

Natalia Hogg and Lewis Carr's baby girl Connie Isabella Carr was born at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital at 12.01am.

Lewis, 32, believes Connie could be the first baby in the UK born on December 25, 2025. The account manager said: “It’s almost like she hung on and thought I'll be born on Christmas Day. Everyone was in shock!”

The couple, from Wallsend, North Tyneside, had been given a due date of January 3, 2026. However Natalia had to get to the hospital in Cramlington, Northumberland, when her waters broke on December 23.

Connie weighed 6lb 8oz and Lewis said: “We're over the moon.

“I have never felt so in awe of a person. I have never felt so much love. She's the double of her mother, she's small with dark hair.”
