JIM Green can’t wait for Chester's huge National League North promotion final on Sunday and declared, “we're ready to embrace the challenge.”

The club’s vice chairman and long-term fan is as excited as anyone else as the Blues head to Lincolnshire to face Scunthorpe United for the 4pm kick-off.

Beating Buxton, then Kidderminster Harriers has propelled Calum Mcintyre’s side into this huge clash which will be watched by close to 9,000 people in the stadium with Chester backed by 1,600 supporters.

The Buxton clash started it all off at the Deva Stadium and Green said: “It was brilliant.

The lads had been producing the goods for a few weeks before that.

“We've had a strong end to the regular season with some good performances and good results and that gave us a bit of momentum to go into the play-off campaign.

“It was a fantastic atmosphere and a brilliant way to win it with a late goal.
