A MAN tried to trick a Facebook seller into handing over his Rolex watch - even showing him a fake bank payment on his phone.

Jail for man who turned nasty after fraud failed

And after the seller refused to hand over the watch, thief Ricky Casey turned nasty and threatened to burn the victim's Ellesmere Port house down.

He then stole the watch and fled the house before getting in his car and driving off.

Now Casey, 28, from Essex, has been jailed for 20 months after appearing at Chester Crown Court after pleading guilty to theft, fraud by false representation and threatening to damage or destroy property.

The court heard that on July 17, the victim arranged for Casey to view the Rolex watch at his home address in Ellesmere Port. Casey didn’t turn up at the agreed time so the victim went out.
