Driver left with nasty injury as object smashes through his windscreen on M56
A DRIVER says he could have been killed after an unknown object shot through his windscreen on the M56 in Cheshire and sliced down the side of his head.
Welder Jake Gray is now appealing for potential witnesses to come forward as he urges steps to be taken to ensure no one else is injured or possibly killed in a similar incident.
The item has not been found but Cheshire Police is investigating the incident.
Leaving his home in Teesside at 4.30am on Thursday, May 29, Jake was travelling down to work at a site in Warrington on what would have been his day off when the horrifying incident occurred.
The 31-year-old said: "I was about 10 minutes away and in the third lane of the carriageway. Something must have come across over the barrier as there was nothing directly in front of me. It's sliced straight through the windscreen, glass shattered in my face and it’s gone out the rear window.
