THE INFAMOUS PARTITION: THE WEAPONIZATION OF RELIGION
The Business Guardian
|December 10, 2024
In medieval Hindu texts from South India, the Sultan of Delhi is regularly talked about as the incarnation of the god Vishnu. The Mughal Emperor Akbar and Mughal Prince Dara Shikoh had the Mahabharata and Bhagavad Gita, the reverent texts of Hinduism, translated into Persian. Other Emperors and Princes have desired mingling of the two faiths and philosophy through their reigns in history.

After the blood-spattered Second World War changed the social overtone and economic undertone of the wounded planet, two unexpected events substantially affected the India subcontinent. The first of them were the imperatorial Britishers, once formidable and invincible, were suddenly mishandled and butchered in imperial stratagem and war manoeuvre. They no longer had the war-machination or enterprise to retain their blasphemous superintendence over the fractured Indian subcontinent, seething with resurgent nationalism, vicious rebellions and sacrilegious atrocities.
The Britishers left India, disgraced and stigmatized, their colonial ambitions fading into oblivion over the emerging European & American economization and social re-adjustment. The second was the unexpected predatory and rapacious ferocity of the concomitant Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims, dissolving the delicate social fabric of India in sociopathic sectarian violence.
