Supreme Court Puts On Hold Enforcement Of Order On Marketing Advocate Presence For A Week

The Supreme Court in the case Baidya Nath Choudhary v. Dr. Sree Surendra Kumar Singh observed and has put on hold its order that only the presence of advocates who are either present or assisting in court proceedings will be marked.

The court in the case allowed the exemption after Supreme Court Bar Association President Kapil Sibal mentioned the matter before the bench and sought time to streamline the issue.

The bench comprising of Justice JK Maheshwari and Justice Rajesh Bindal was hearing the present matter.

The bench stated that the direction would not be given effect to for one week.

The bench in the case observed and has issued the direction last week, noting the practice of marking the presence of advocates who were neither physically nor virtually present during court proceedings.
