India’s automobile industry posted 1.8 per cent growth on-year in wholesales of passenger vehicles at 3.61 lakh in September and the highest ever sales in the July-September quarter, riding high on the festive stimulus injected by positive purchasing sentiments, all-round economic growth of the country and conducive Government policies

PVs sales up 1.8% in Sept 23, dispatches of PVs, 3Ws in Q2 highest ever: SIAM

Companies sold 74,418 units of three-wheelers and 17,49,794 units of two-wheelers. The total production of PVs, 3wheelers, 2wheelers and quadricycle in September 2023, was 25,19,105 units, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) said on Monday.

In the July-September quarter of 2023-24, auto firms dispatched 10,74,189 units of PVs, 2,47,929 units of CVs, 1,95,215 units of 3wheelers, 45,98,442 units of two-wheelers in the domestic market. While PVs have posted a growth of 4.7 per cent, 3wheelers have posted a growth of 62.2 per cent, compared to the corresponding period of FY23. The total production of PVs, commercial vehicles (CVs), 3wheelers, 2wheelers and quadricycle in the Q2FY24 was 74,03,794 units.
